Now I think this first scene of the anime is possibly showing in the movie too.
Yuuri seems to be wearing the uniform of the Japanese juniors group? He can see Victor on the ice rink, it is snowing outside, the juniors group and the adult group are at the same time so he may have seen the practice of Victor.
I believe I recall Yuuri’s voice actor saying he asked the creators about the background of this scene.
When asked to share what he’d learned, he said, “I’ll never tell.”
Which sounds like a spoiler. A spoiler we never saw revealed in Season 1.
So it might indeed be a scene in the movie.
I always thought his comment was in reference to the shot of older Yuuri in that scene – the way he seems so determined, like he and Victor have agreed upon something – but now that I think about it, his comment could also reference the shot of them when they’re younger.
“I’ll always remember and love the years I had with you.”
before anybody throws me to the kerb, I promise Maccachins not passed away – I just remember being told some older doggo’s really benefit from having a younger pup around (and it puts Maccachin at ease to know his humans are gonna be OK…when…yknow)
Ah, no, that one isn’t mine! I don’t really write about the sekushi stuff, and as far as I recall, there are multiple posts describing those sorts of hcs, but I’m unable to find any specific ones right now. (my own personal opinion about it tho is that they move into that part of the relationship somewhere after Cup of China and before GPF).
Thank you so much for your compliments, and I’m sorry I couldn’t be more helpful!
someone who went to a signing session asked kubo is vitya knew who yuuri was before the banquet, and she said that he did and that he knew yuuri was his fan bc it’s evident in his skating style! i couldn’t find the original source for you so if someone remember who it was please share a link!
Can you imagine how flattering that would be though? Like, what if Victor was in the beginnings of his low point and then he sees this adorable skater, and he realises that those moves are familiar. That style is just like his own.
And it suddenly hits him, “Oh right, that’s why I’m still doing this. For him. For all the people like him.”
And after that he keeps an eye on Yuuri because his skating is a little reminder that he’s inspired someone, that even when he feels like giving up, there’s someone to keep skating for.
