Memory (teen+)
“You literally swept me off my feet,” Viktor tells Yuuri, smiling softly at him. “You surprised me and you haven’t stopped surprising me since. I never want you to stop surprising me.”
In which Yuuri doesn’t remember, Viktor has been smitten since forever, and they’re both just happy to be together.
(a one shot, super cute and fluffy. makes you all warm inside, really. set just after the banquet reveal in ep10. 1.7k words)
Ora Sono Pronto/ Now I’m Ready (teen+)
Victor is used to the banquet after the Grand Prix Final. Same faces, same questions about next season, nothing surprising. But this year, Katsuki Yuuri surprises him so much, that he thinks he may have fallen in love a little. Well, more than a little. Enough that Victor is willing to drop competitive skating to be his coach.
Throughout it all, Victor smiles and laughs and loses track of everything around them. The world is just him and this lovely man, dancing together. Victor Nikiforov is not the Grand Prix gold medallist, Katsuki Yuuri is not the Grand Prix finalist who had a horrible result. They are just two men dancing, chasing the heat found in each other’s bodies, chasing the happiness that comes when they’re in sync, so perfectly.
(more ep10 banquet fic. but i never get tired of these. 6k words)
Remembrance (gen audiences)
Victor remembers the confusion, hurt and rejection when he finds the empty hotel room that had once been occupied by an individual bearing the name of Katsuki Yuri hours ago, and said individual was now en route to Japan. He remembers sinking to the carpeted floor in his pajamas before returning to his own room to curl up in his comforter. He remembers Yakov coming over to help him pack with pity evident in his eyes when the check out time had long past and Victor was nowhere to be found. And all Victor could do was lie immobile on the bed with tears he thought would never end. He remembered lecturing his own self mentally, that it was ridiculous to act this way for someone you had only met once, but yet, he could not deny the fact that last night was the first time Victor had felt honestly living, relieved from the burdens and expectations as a renowned and international ice skater. Being with Yuri had felt absolutely right.
or a fic of how a heartbroken Victor had fared since that banquet and how he finally won Yuri’s heart
(starts out w/ some great pining angst and ends in fluff. a really great one shot. 3k words.)
Should I Stay or Should I Go? (explicit)
17-year-old Katsuuki Yuuri has just been rejected from his dream school, NYU. One night, his best friend, Phichit, has had enough, and drags his dejected and hopeless friend to a party, where he drunkenly runs into hockey team captain, ASB president, and his hopeless childhood crush, Victor Nikiforov.
(I tried to keep certain elements of the plot, along with character dynamics, as parallel as possible to the show! also the title and chapter titles are influenced by the song by The Clash ofc)
(an hs au that incorporates the banquet. yuuri and victor are cute. also, there be smut. 14.9k words.)
One More to See You (nr)
His name and reputation have lived past him, gilded in glory and high in triumph. A living legend, they all say. But Viktor himself was left in an underworld of darkness, on his lofty throne, undeniably alone.
So, Viktor Nikiforov was dead, until, until, until–
(i love victor character studies, since we get so little of that in the actual canon. it’s about the banquet, of course. 602 words.)
Victor Effing Nikiforov (explicit)
AU in which Yuuri still doesn’t remember the banquet, somehow doesn’t blow Japanese Nationals, runs into Victor at the World Championships, and has absolutely no idea why his idol is suddenly friendly and incredibly handsy.
Does Yuuri care about his reasons? No. It’s Victor Effing Nikiforov.
Basically this is an excuse for total fluff.
And porn. And shit-talking with bonus smut. (Edited for accuracy.) Happy birthday, Victor.~~
Victor turned back to him, supernova smile in place once more. “I really, really like you. Promise you’ll still dance with me at the banquet if you take gold this time around.”
Yuuri stared at the man. He looked at their entwined hands—he hadn’t wanted to pull away—and their thighs, pressed together despite there being plenty of room in the backseat of the cab. That scent of Victor’s cologne—just a dab, lightly applied somewhere on his neck—swirled around him. This was too real to be a dream, too physical for him to have imagined it.
“I’m sorry,” Yuuri said slowly. “But…have we talked before?”
(amazing writing and character interactions here. victor is so cute and so in love. 13k words.)
Green Light (series)
that pole dancing!AU no one rly asked for. A 3 part series in progress with Chris!POV, Yuuri!POV then Viktor!POV of the exact same events. All 3 parts can be read alone, but it’s better to read all three to get the full story.
(an au i never knew i needed. it’s on chris’ part rn, and i love outside pov fics. one of those aus that incorporate the banquet. i would highly recommend this. 51.5k words. WIP, 2/3 parts)
A Different Take on Making History (mature)
Yuuri might deny it, but Viktor knows everything was set off in that first moment when the other had walked away from him.
His interest had definitely been piqued.
Viktor’s following decision to pursue said interest was the best one he’d ever made in his life, because despite not participating, he got to stand by the love of his life as history was made during one of the greatest figure skating seasons he’d witnessed.
The katsudon had been a bonus.
(Or, Yuri!!! on Ice, from Viktor’s P.O.V.. Is he just as unreliable a narrator as Yuuri Katsuki?)(i can never get enough of post banquet fic. also, fics from outside yuuri’s perspective. love those too. this is so well written. there’s a bit of angst, but that’s to be expected. 12.7k words. WIP, 1/? chapters)
Leave the Banner There (teen+)
“Victor has a crush- a full-blown, goofy-daydreaming, struggling-to-sleep-at-night crush.”
Victor pines, entertains his rinkmates, and wonders what the heck to do with himself.
(post-banquet, and mostly pre-episode 1. pining vic and russian rinkmate interactions fuel me. 2.9k words.)
Turntables (teen+)
It happens approximately one week after Yuuri’s disastrous performance in Sochi.
Viktor Nikiforov @v-nikiforov
I wish I could date pretty black haired boys who dance well.“Ooh, the candidates are already flooding in!” Phichit says with an amused grin.
“Candidates?” Yuuri asks and Phichit helps Yuuri scroll down to read the replies. Most of them are variants of “date me!” with pictures attached. It’s all very interesting.
“You should send one too!” Phichit says and Yuuri doesn’t even bother answering him. “Look, I’ll send one if you send one. It’ll be fun!”
(lmaooo yuuri still doesn’t remember the banquet. sweet, then angsty, then sweet again. and yurio curses every 2 seconds. 4k words.)
Like a Fairytale (teen+)
Victor is a prince who’s just a little bored of his drab palace life and barely tolerates the fancy inter-kingdom banquets because of the amazing sweets which get brought in.
Yuuri is a baker living in the kingdom’s capital, who’s always admired the prince from afar but has always been too anxious to deliver his creations to the palace in person.
Maybe what they need to come together is a little magic meddling from a fairy god-phichit.
(oh my god. yuuri is so sweet and nervous, and victor is helplessly entranced. i am so in love with this fic. 73k words.)
Tale of a Sleeping Prince (teen+)
Victor meets Yuuri at the Grand Prix Banquet in Sochi, and falls head over heels for him. Of course, only one of them remembers.
(i will never be tired of banquet fics. this is one of my fav interpretations. 7.7k words.)
Of Joy and Duty (teen+)
At a royal banquet, Crown Prince Victor Nikiforov encountered a drunk foreigner who brought a moment of joy into a life full of duty. During that unforgettable night, this man proposed and stole Victor’s heart only to disappear back to his own country the next day.
Now Victor wants to follow this man back to his homeland and bring him home to be wed, but first he must convince his family and the royal advisor Yakov to even consider allowing the heir to the throne to marry a man. That’s not the only problem though. When Victor finds his betrothed again, the nervous man he finds is nothing like the dancer who won his love at the banquet.
(omg this is so cute. there’s pining, fluff, courting, anything you could want from a royalty au. and victor sure does have a rude awakening coming about the banquet, doesn’t he? 27.5k words.)
Even Ice Gods Can Melt (series)
(no official summary, but holy FUCK is this series good. it follows victor through the banquet, the series, and post-canon. the first part is victor/yurio pov, the second victor pov, the third yurio pov, and the fourth yuuri pov. this was actually a recommendation but i got super lazy about putting here i’m sorry friend. 43.7k words.)
More to come!
